A buddy of mine lives in Fredericksburg, VA and worked in D.C. as one of those federal bureaucrats. That was the last time we were in DC; he took the van into work, while we wandered around the city for (only) a few hours. My wife really wants to head back that way...we have friends in NC and a niec...

Been to DC only a couple of times, but it was in passing thru, so nothing more than a highlight stop along the way.

One day, we'll need to actually plan to be there more than a couple of days to see more of the city.
