I became curious about this and finally asked about the transition to VS Fora a few weeks ago.

The reply was that it would probably happen at some point but that there was no firm time frame.

I do not know how quickly such changes have been implemented on other sites but it seemed almost immediate.

Perhaps the adv deal was negotiated a bit differently ?

On another note, I had expected this site to become much busier; seems like fewer inmates are being banned vs drifting away...

I don't know if it has been mention... Advrider terms and privacy agreements changed twice without notice and most users are probably unaware. Baldy couldn't care less. Rudy changed it to unlimited licence to do whatever they want probably in conflict with international content laws then transferred that licence to VS. I was never asked. It is a mess.

Moderation standards have not improved. A lot of members, especially in the basement are a pack of animals led by the moderators.

I read the rules for this site. The same rules are meaningless on advrider. Moderators are certainly not neutral. Some of it is vile.

VS has brought aboard service degradation as a tool to get people they don't want to move on. Moderators are evasive on the subject.

Well,advrider was fun for a while.

Probably Baldy does care but that ceased to matter when he sold it to Rooty TootToot.

I'm not sure, though, that VS is necessarily driving the changes you've mentioned as much as they are responding to suggestions from site staff.

Thanks for the reminder about my subscription. I cancelled mine today. I guess it will still show supporter until it actually expires on Nov 1.
I'll let my adblocker keep things clean for me. AB was still showing 15-20 hits/blocks even with supporter which is supposed to be ad free.

People are nuts paying for a site that monetises users profiles.

I was supporting back in the day. Then just didn't turn it off. I haven't been banned in years. I'm sure that was when I just chose to avoid most of the basement. CS&M for sure!
I've even checked out of the other VOTB forum to keep myself out of trouble. I like it very much here. Any little jabs I get here, I take as light hearted joking.
