Re: Whats your NET speed?
I had to take 2 short commercial flights today, and in the 737-800 they announced with much fanfare that we had free in-flight wifi!
Oh the things we were promised - direct connection to a satellite internet provider... streaming, movies, etc. etc. etc... blah blah blah...
I had 45-odd minutes to play with it, and this is the fastest I managed.

The funny part was a plane full of people trying to video call their friends on that connection

Re: Whats your NET speed?
Get a email from Xfinity cable about how our old cable modem is no longer supported and we need to upgrade to the new standard DOCSIS 3.0 or higher modem.
Researched, thoroughly confused now, we're at WallyMart and I see one for $169.
I buy it, hook it up, no "automatic connection & Activation" like the directions say it will do....
Use the app on my phone to have it activated once.......... it still doesn't work.
I try again, reset the modem about six times......... still not working and the most likely culprit is the new modem, it is not sending a signal outward or uploading.
Now I have my iPhone Hot Spot activated and I'm running my computer off of it.
Technician will be out here on Sunday, unless I just box this thing up and take it back to Wallyworld tomorrow.

Isn't technology just wonderful?
Just when I think my cell is working great and all the apps are functioning well, my phone will do an update and fuck everything up. NO MORE UPDATES! Turned that off!!

Re: Whats your NET speed?
WallyWorld got their modem back and I headed off to Target.
Great riding weather.
Found a Motorola for $30 less, bought it, installed, activated it through my phone.........
I'm back in the fast world.

Re: Whats your NET speed?
So, you can turn your iPhone into a little WiFi access point so you can use cellular signals for your laptop or computer. No cable? No problem, flick the switch and use the cell phone instead.

Re: Whats your NET speed?
This is my wife's family. They have been there since the late 1800s. My wife is the only one that has escaped.
