On Thursday and Friday I made the round trip (2h+2h) during the day and as I had to go back on Monday, I decided to drive on Sunday to discover the tip of Ankify, to stay overnight and on Monday morning, just one hour to get back to the office including 50 minutes to make the 20km between Ankify and the national road...
Ankify is the place from where the boats leave for Nosy Bay, the boats with the passengers only cross in the morning because afterwards the sea is "bad" (wind and wave)
I stayed at the Baobab hotel, it was closed for almost 3 years and we were only 3 clients...
Room directly on the beach, good, except that the beach is public and therefore on Sunday there are people around your "hut"...
Before joining the hotel I followed the track until the end, it passes in the village then at the edge of the beach and ends in the yard of a house in the hill...
Saturday 26 I went to Diego Suarez to change the tires of the L200, the rainy season is coming slowly and now I have more adapted tires (yes they put what they had and it is the maximum size...)

Excellent report! I love seeing all of your adventures (especially with the tyres) and the roads.
Thank you, I have added some videos, made with the phone,
Here the most important is the horn, otherwise on the "road" everything is possible you have to be very careful... https://www.youtube.com/@KristofGranit/videos
I overtake 2 Mercedes trucks
and here a Land Cruiser + a Pajero
Crossing the center at Ambilobe
(check the young boy with the bike...)
Saturday 17th we closed our site for the Christmas vacations and Sunday I went to Diego Suarez, I had to take a first plane on Tuesday morning for the (French) island of La Reunion and in the evening a flight to Paris.
But Tuesday after the check-in, while we were in the boarding room, it was announced to us that the flight was cancelled and postponed to another date, maybe in 48h...
I went back to the hotel and my company took another flight but this time through the capital, so yesterday morning 2 hours to reach Antananarivo, one night in the hotel and this Thursday evening I have to take a flight to France.
In the end 2 days of delay.
Tuesday to "wait" I rented a quad and I went to the "3 bays".

Sunday 18th - Diego Suarez
Yesterday inside a taxi Renault 4L
(Hand made system)
The guy pulling the cart is barefoot, in town on asphalt under the sun...
In the city, there are many beggars, including children, who come to the windows of cars in traffic jams.
Nothing to do with the North, people are just as poor but they don't beg...
Built in South Africa, as the Ford Ranger we have:
Fish:
"near miss"
No one was hurt, the compactor was close to the tree, but it did not hit it.
I can't imagine if instead of driving off the road he had entered an overloaded bush cab..
The operator was drunk...
Some short videos at Ambanja and on the way back to Ambilobe:

Last week there was the first cyclone of the season, we were in the "red zone" and we closed our site for a day.
But nothing "special" (for us) just rain (a lot) and wind.
The rain stayed all week and in the south the road is cut in 3 places, pictures from the net:
