My Beloved and I are pretty sure that's what her father used to drink [she is from Poland].

He swore by it, and apparently a bottle lasted 6-8 months so the dose must have been small. :thumb

There are plenty of things that, in small doses, are therapeutic, if only to the spirit. Today, we seem to be stuck on a binary view of all things: It is a fix or it is useless. That something might be helpful, but not a cure, is unthinkable.

BIG egg nog fan here..I cant seem to get enuff of the golden nectar .. growing up, my dad owned a A&W rootbeer stand..after he retired and closed it down, I scored several A&W mugs, and I still have them. They sit in the feezer, just as they did at the rootbeer stand so I always have a frosted mug handy, especially for EGG NOG! As you get to the bottom of the mug O nogg, the frosted nogg on the sides slide down to the bottom thus creating a delicious Nogg Icing..life is good :DukeGirl

I was, maybe, 11 years old and accompanied my father to drop off Christmas gifts to his brother. My uncle asked us if we wanted an 'nog'. We, of course, said sure.

That was the first eggnog and whiskey I ever had. It was probably Black Velvet. These days I make mine with Southern Comfort, and a tasty drink it is. :thumb

Yes it was. I used a muffin recipe as the base for the cake, nice and easy to make. Used raw sugar, not the white refined stuff.
