I know it's not throwback Thursday yet, but reading all of this made me think back to our first computer.
With a dial up modem.
And you were hoping for a "56K" connection, but you only saw "connected at 2800kps".
(can you hear that static sound?)
Then somewhere in there was the first DSL line that ran around 6400bps. And thought that was awesome!
And then that "cable" thing came out with speeds measured in "Megabits" per second. WOW!
Now if a video buffers a bit we scream.
A cabin in the woods sounds nice, but I wouldn't want to go back to some old school stuff.
