ADV Banned Camp

37 degrees this morning, slight dusting of frost, and the weather forecast is for rain starting tomorrow is for the "Atmospheric River" from the pacific to dump 4-9" of rain in the north Bay Area in the next week.
Flood advisories are being posted, mass hysteria, paranoia warnings are also up.

Rain people, it's a rain storm.

Rain started about 7:00 AM this morning, growing at a steady pace from drizzle to light rain now and the clouds are getting darker.
51 degrees, settling in for a day of YouTubes.

2.8" of rain in the last 24 hours here, and the creek we walk by everyday (that was EMPTY yesterday) was flowing over half full today.
Forecast for a total of over 5.5" by Saturday.

Still got a mile walk in today, Gortex jacket worked, boots and socks dry.... jeans not so much. Pants are in the dryer now.

Need to check on the wife to see if she needs help changing.

When it's really cold, do you ever warm up your [clean, unworn] boxer shorts in the microwave?

No........... but I do warm up my sweatshirts in the dryer for about 6-9 minutes.
Microwave might be faster........ but I'll stick to the clothes dryer.

Yeah, now they give the bad weather names I guess. In the past we just called it bad weather.

I remember growing up in the 60's and we had "rainy days". If it rained three days or more in a row, it was a "storm".
And when your mother got tired of you saying "mom, mom, mom, mom...." she dressed you up in a rain coat, sent you outside by yourself, and told you to go to the neighbors house and play with your friend at his place.

But you found your neighborhood friend halfway there, in his raincoat, and you ran through puddles, played hide-n-seek, and got totally drenched for two hours.
Then went back home and said you got wet just walking home.

We got 4.5" of snow Thurs - Friday. It snow mixed with rain all day Sat.
So I didn't get how much more we got.
At least the ground is clear now.

The winds were pretty bad last night and still blowing to beat the band

Wow, Bay Area weather really knows how to keep us on our toes! Frosty mornings one day and a big rainstorm the next. A raincoat is definitely a must in this kind of weather. I recently got a great deal on a raincoat through GMA (https://www.dealsandstealstoday.com/) and it’s been a lifesaver. Hopefully, the rain helps with reservoirs and doesn’t cause too much trouble. Stay safe and dry out there!

So far, the running total for the '24/'25 season is 16" of snow and counting

2 more inches last night !
Plowed and groomed the driveway. Put char and ash on the big hills..
All in hopes that it will bring it down to the black top.
We have a big storm coming tomorrow night..

2:30pm and we've hit our high of 53°F

Back down to freezing (or maybe a bit below) overnight. Brrr...

Calm and 36 degrees this morning at 6, a little frost on the rooftops with the sound of the vineyard fans running in the distance.
Went out for a walk at 8:30 with a sweatshirt and a shell. Wound up taking those off and carrying them, by 9:00 is was 56 degrees and the wind was starting.
Now it's 71 degrees and feels like spring has sprung.

At least we are having a thaw for the last 4d now ! I can see the earth in spots..
My driveway is clear now fully other than the banks. I'll take that, I might see if I
can push them back a little today. To get ready for this next round of snow and bitter cold snap.
I have 21 bales of hay left and about 2 cords of wood left..I never got the last 2 trees in..
That I needed. the weather turned before I could get a mate here o fell the 2 trees.. I was hoping
mother nature would drop them . But nope..

We are up to 26" for the 24/25 season..
