Yes making home made Pancakes is so easy ...

After tweaking I have come up with this ...
I use a whole wheat flour ground down ..
They call it white whole wheat... And acts like all purpose..
You will need :

2 Cups White Whole Wheat Flour
3 Teaspoons Baking Powder
1.5 TB soy Flour ( optional ) I use it to increase the protein
1 Tablespoon Maple sugar ( raw sugar or Honey )or what tickles your fancy .
1 Egg
1 2/3 Cup of Milk
2 Tablespoons Melted Shortening ( I use coconut oil )

Stir the flour and BP together.
Mix milk ~ sugar~ Egg together .
Melt shortening ..

Pour the milk mixture into the flour , mix then add the melted shortening , Mix again ..

Cook as normal ..And enjoy ...

These might not.. The white whole wheat flour makes a difference..IMHO
AS they don't do that to HB...
But if he eats them out , yeah he will get the bloats as well .

What kind of milk are ya drinking ? We don't use homogenized milk...
I get it in the ole timey bottles.. $2.00 deposit on the bottles..

You can also cut that recipe in half ..
You will need to beat the egg and only use 1/8 a cup of egg..

I use self-raising wholemeal flour, protein powder, salt and an egg, plus lots of cinnamon (in the mix).

Once mixed, cook in butter... the outside crisps up beautifully, no need to add anything just eat straight from the pan :wings

p.s. I stole this idea - one of the protein powder companies makes the little satchels for a 'healthy indulgent treat' for bodybuilders, but they charge $5.50 per satchel which makes 1 full pan pancake or 4 little bitty pikelets.

If you place a piece of cooked bacon in the middle of a pancake it makes it excellent. I made some blueberry, buttermilk cottage cheese and pecan pancakes for a Bugscuffle gathering in the hill country a couple years ago, and one of the guys asked me to make one for his wife who was still at their cabin. She approached me later and told that when she discovered the bacon, she thinks she had an orgasm.

Pancakes, my specialty is:

1 cup if self raising flour
1 cup of rice flour
1 large teaspoon of baking powder
1 cup of sugar
1 egg
2 cups of milk
dollop of 5 spice (heaped teaspoon)
extra cinnamon (normal teaspoon)

fruit to be added:
fresh or frozen berries - blueberries, raspberries and blackberries work well together
one mashed banana

Mixed the dry ingredients with a fork, add egg and milk and mix. Add berries and stir.

Cook over a low to moderate heat with virgin olive oil. Yum yum yum...

Pancakes with real maple syrup only, I buy mine from a local sugar bush. I get the darkest they have.
Local diner makes good pancakes, they butter the grill before they pour the batter, crispy edges. They will supply maple syrup for an extra $2.
