Cream of Rice is one of my favorites ..
I stopped buying it in the silly little box .
And grind my own from long grain rice .. It's awesome.

1/4 C ground rice , a pat of butter , 1 cup of milk your choice. Cook till thick and bubbly .

I like oatmeal..
I was never a fan of Maypo
Grits , yeah I like grits...

I like Kashi with hot milk..
And grape nuts hot too..

I could never come at cereal, let alone hot versions e.g. rice, porridge etc...

If I have a hot breakfast there's toast, and often eggs.

But usually breakfast is stovetop espresso, thick and black. The spoon almost stands up vertical in it. No sugar.

For a change I like the overnight oatmeal in Alton Brown's book. Don't have it at hand but it has almond and coconut milk, flax and chia seeds, coconut, and dried fruit. The bad part is the recipe is written with weights so if I want to make more than one serving I have to weigh out ingredients 3 times. After a night in the fridge I nuke it for about 30-45 seconds to take the chill off.

I also like Bob's Red Mill Extra Thick Rolled Oats. I can take my shower in the time it takes them to cook.

Grits with butter, pepper and Frank's Red Hot.

And hominy. I absolutely love hominy.
