Got my siriusxm installed and live! Installed koso heated grips, cleaned my headlight/foglight housings and ordered yellow/amber bulbs for the fogs.

Been running a BAL brand taillight, and am impressed with how traffic stays back, so lets see what ambers do.

What have you done today?

Started another project on the lathe. Making another aluminum rotor bolt cover to replace the plastic one Kawasaki thinks is cool.

Mmm strawberry shortcake, sounds good. We've got our patch growing, we might just beat Stew the rabbit to them this year.

Did some garage prep for new siding and rain gutters.

Maybe in a bit...

I have to change the seat on my HD Sportster XL 1200 CX Roadster. As far as I know it’s the last 2020 sold in Alberta and I only got it because someone else’s deal fell through, at the time not knowing it had been discontinued and was no longer in production for 2021. It was delivered in a blizzard in December.

The original buyer made some changes. The 4.5 us gal tank was installed. The handlebar changed. The seat changed and a switch to forward controls. I consider forward controls to offer NO control and had them switched back. I also had a HD Moustache engine guard installed just like on my 2017 Roadster.

After a few rides, the seat is obscene so it gets the yank today. Fortunately having owned a 2017 I have two seats in boxes - The HD Highboy Solo and a Drag Specialties seat. The Highboy goes on today.

Here’s the Roadster the day I made the transaction.

I'm looking forward to the after pictures. :lurker

I get customizing things, but I have never been able to wrap my mind around buying a brand-new bike and changing tons of parts out. If you didn't want what they made why buy it at the "new" price? Wouldn't it make more sense to buy a used one and spend the savings on the customization? :dontknow

But, I am a cheap bastard.

Installed the 5th solar panel on my RoadTrek RV. I've had one flexible panel mounted at the rear fail, and attached a second on top of that one as it was difficult to remove, having been glued to the roof fairly well using the supplied suction cups. That one is still working. The second flexible one, mounted in the same manner, disappeared last week, the suction cups themselves having apparently failed. A third flexible panel, mounted at the front of the vehicle, was unable to endure the aerodynamic stresses involved at the front of the vehicle (and 80+ mph drives in the Texas heat) and parted way a while back. I finally bit the bullet and mounted a rigid panel in the middle of the roof, drilling holes in the roof for the first time. This sucker won't blow off.

@Diogenes009, Some bikes are perfect out of the box, others need some help. I guess personalizing is part of the hobby. Plus myself and others like to fettle and get our bikes dialed it to perfection. Or sell trying!

Adjusted the final belt on the Ultra and installed Laminex Amber covers on the spots, the bulbs alone were too yellow.
Then a detail and wax, just cause its been raining for days.

I packed the Garage prior to moving. I close on the house the 30th. Now I have to find a new house in Houston. I've been driving down every week. That drive is getting real old. It's amazing the amount of crap I have accumulated in the 28 years I have lived here. I pitched a lot of it.

I don't plan on ever moving again. The last time was a months long transfer of stuff and now there is so much more of it. Sigh.

Well, I went into the attic to see if I could find the extra exhaust for the V-Rod I purchased about 12 years ago. It has the 16ga SE exhaust and the engine is flashed for that exhaust. I realized back then that one could no longer get that specific flash, and the 16ga delivers the best compromise between sound and power one can get without adding some kind of fueler, and then hoping to find a tuner who has a clue. I have been dynoed at 108 rwhp twice, and that's about as good as it gets for a stock 1130cc motor. I found it under one of 4 xmas trees up there. There is a lot of crap up there that will be left behind when I move, like in 2 weeks. The bike has been down on the right side twice in 100,000 miles, but I managed to only scrape the underside of the pipes. These scrape on turns anyway (or had at least once) so I haven't replaced the originals yet.

Every time we even think of moving, I just look up in the attic and around the garage.

Nope! No moving this stuff.

I've done my last move.

My current garage is full but sorted. Now to just keep it that way and hopefully slowly reduce.

The thing that has not reduced are the number of vehicles in my driveway, every time an insurance bill arrives I seriously reconsider whether we should keep them all. Once I stop working there might need to be a rationalization of the toys...

Last "couple" of days....
Flush brake fluid
Replace front pads and rotor
Change coolant
Service air filter
Clean & gap spark plug
Change oil & filter
Adjust valves (luckily had spare shims)
and now I'm rebuilding the forks tomorrow.
