Christmas Dinner

Post by Camp Director »

So, what's on the table for Christmas dinner at your house?

It's pizza and beer at the Camp Directors house. :thumb

Lasagna, Italian sausage, green bean casserole, spaghetti squash, homemade rolls, Caesar salad.

The final round of chocolate cream pie, pumpkin pie, candied cranberry cheesecake and a cast of thousands of Christmas cookies ensured that nobody had any excuse for wanting to eat again for the remainder of this year.

I may have weighed 5# more this morning than I did yesterday. :fp

We still have two Christmas' here.
Christmas Eve at my mothers was Lasagna & Mexican turkey casserole.
Christmas Day with her family was traditional ham, a small turkey, and all the usual trimmings.

We will be doing the fishes. Wife's Italian. Not that I mind, it's mostly seafood. But never been a fan of crab sauce and I'm not fighting with a crab. Ironically my fav. Meal is spaghetti and meatballs but my wife is not a fan. Not frying calamari or smelts this year. Too much a hassle and not enough room in he kitchen.

Quiet day around here, went for our walk and then hung out.

Put the Tri-Tip on the smoker at 2:30 and pulled it off at 5. Had baked potatoes & artichokes with it.

Was just the Mrs. and our two sons this year for Christmas. No turkey, no ham, tried prime rib for the first time. So easy and came out quite good, if I do say so myself. Looking forward to leftovers with my eggs for breakfast tomorrow!

Same as every year since the kids were old enough to be around hot oil: fondue. Steak, chicken, shrimp, and potatoes. It's a good meal for a once a year family sit down since it can't be scarfed down quickly. This is the first year with a grandkid in the picture so we tag teamed getting up and tending to him away from the hot oil.
