GPS software for iPhone?

Post by campfire »

#1 Disclaimer -- I'm a cheapskate KLR rider.

My good old Garmin eTrex 30 has died. :wall
Looking at replacements for it and it seems to be $599 and up for something close now. Enter the cheap part, I have my old iPhone 6 Plus (HUGE screen) with a broken screen. I can get it fixed for around $60, and then clean it out for a motorcycle dedicated unit on the handlebars. Been looking at GPS software from GAIA but it has a subscription and might not interface with what I want.

Anybody use their phone for a GPS? And what apps do you use?

My son loves to use Gaia. I have it, but prefer my Garmin's. We have android. Not sure if there is a iPhone version. I've heard lots of good things about it.
I luv puppies. All kinds. Sweater are my most luv'd.

No idea which one you need - but there will be something. :thumb

Lots of golfers do a similar thing with an older phone on their trolley handle for the golf GPS/score apps.
