Re: What Are We Eating?
Boy howdy did I make something good! Wed night....
thick sliced tater, fresh snow peas, roasted peppers baby carrots left whole as they were very thin
Angled sliced celery , Vald. Onion, Fresh chopped garlic.
Then made a sauce ,, It was great...
The next time I'll make a bunch and freeze some ...What I did :
butter and coconut oil in a ceramic pan, add the taters and brown one side, add Peppers, onions, Peas, carrots, celery.. Add first 3 cloves of chopped garlic. Sweat and cook down for a bit. Turn up heat and brown a tad.
Then add some water from the blanched snow peas. (from earlier as I had froze some and needed to blanch them for 2min. :) )
At this point if you like you may add a veggy. cube aka bullion . Then in a cup add some arrow root or corn starch. Then add some of that pea water ,and stir till all the it's just water again.. NO lumps if you add wet to the dry.. Not the other way..
Turn down the heat , add the slurry ,stir well add more water or stock as needed..
Cook till the slurry no longer tastes starchy.. Salt n pepper and add 3 more cloves of chopped Garlic ..
Heat a few more sec. and serve ! As a side dish or in my case main...

This morning the girls got scrambled eggs made with spinach, onion, garlic and parmesan on toast. Home made beef sausage on the side with fried tomato. I'm not much of a cook, but I must be doing something right because they were back for more.
I've just made a pig of myself on Cook's ravioli to recharge after this morning's ride that was 10MJ or about 2400kcal. I'm heading out in a little while and we're having a barbecue lunch.

Pizza and pasta tonight. Cook is old school Italian and this she does really well and when she is cooking for twenty or so she creates a smorgasbord to satisfy every taste. I wash mine down with a young red. My eldest and her friends have learnt that they can eat what they want if they are getting enough exercise every day.

Drove out to one of the main avenues in town and found a new taco truck.
Three beef for me, two chicken for the wife
Awesome stuff and we're going back to Tacos El May

I don’t understand the attraction to food trucks. This is not to say I have issues with folks that do eat from them. I just don’t eat from them. They seem very overpriced for the stuff that comes out of them without any upsides.
If I want a picnic, I’ll pack my own food. There’s no way they’re all being inspected to meet any standards.

Re: What Are We Eating?
I never used to, then started working at the Fire Department. Had some shifts where ran call to call to call, and grabbed some food on the run. Guess it just tasted better.
Then I got the wife to try a couple, and we have some good ones around here........
And the ones to stay away from.
Big thing around here, on any given day there are at least six in this one area.
When I haul farm/vineyard equipment around, I'll find one on the way and usually pretty good eats. Better than TacoBell

I’ve never found a reason to go to TacoBell either! Not to say I don’t do fast food, just never there.

I have never tried 'taco bell'.
They have some outlets over here now... I quite like Mexican food, but theirs has never appealed to me.

That’s the real issue, they’re not really Mexican. They’re just a fantasy representation created by drunk college kids. Really really drunk college kids.

Re: What Are We Eating?
I’ll have 4 or 5 slices of the blueberry cheesecake, please. For dessert, I’ll have a small bundt cake.
Got to watch my boyish figure!

Re: What Are We Eating?
Not in my experience. A “favorite dessert”, maybe; but not “most popular”.
Interesting Oklahoma is spelled wrong and apparently Maryland doesn’t have dessert at all.

Re: What Are We Eating?
Ok I lied but it sure as hell aint in Texas where it belongs . And I know there are a whole lot more favorite desserts than that

...it would be a real fun road-trip for a couple of months working out if this map was accurate or not
