Updates no longer PAINFUL!
Had an "update" today. What normally would take an hour or more to do, maybe 10 minutes, if that to complete...
Am I happy, or just greedy fo not having fast internet for so long? I say BOTH!

Ok so the cellular network engineers deserve a medal or something.
Just for clarity, this is 4G on a phone that doesn't have 5G and there was no wifi .

Even with my super fast 1 gig net speed, on wifi my cell cant get above 400Mbps..my laptop on cable get above 970Mbps and on wifi, not over 600Mbps...I giddy dance everytime I do a speed test..

Try fast.com for a speed test. From what I have heard, this fast dot com is a NETFLIX server and seems to be the most reliable speed test out there..now if someone has one better, post it up.LadyDraco wrote:

I am in the office, our cable network here only gave 10Mbps max, and it was around 7 for most of the test.
Based on this I think we're throttled by the cabling in our building [installed many years ago]. Mr diogenes009 shared some cable information some months back about max speeds in different spec cables, I guess internet speeds have increased a lot since this building was wired...
This is why I am back to using my 4G for both home and work now. It beats the 10Mbps here in the office, and the 50Mbps at home with the fibre optics. Cheaper too, I now pay $55 for 400GB/m which is plenty for me.

Am glad to have lived long enuff to see high speed internet in my home, WAY out here in da woods! Was promised way back in 91 by govt baffons that money was allocated to rural broadband, we never saw it..
