That reminds me of a Thanksgiving dinner decades ago at the Italian family of a roommate of mine. Out came the stuffed shells.

I had to have a couple, just to be polite. Then the next course came, and then the next...

Several courses later a turkey appeared for some reason.

LOL I've worked in the [NSW] premier's office, and seen what it entails... I wouldn't have that job for any price.

I read P. J. O'Rourke's "Parliament of Whores" as a young man. Then I worked an election campaign for a friend of mine. I realized that everything I hate about people is a requirement for winning and keeping elected office.
I consider a handful of professions to be the embodiment of hell here on Earth. Elected office is one of them. It amazes me how many people have so little imagination as to think that the image of those jobs is in any way related to the reality.
