Expect a call today...if HB answers, tell him the heavy breathing is just me and to hand you the phone so that I can continue the heavy breathing..
So, for the past two weeks, my lil' pooter been telling me that I had updates. I know better than to use Hughesnet for the downloads as it would turn into an ALL DAY event here. So yesterday I had to run to town to pick up my meds so I took my lil' pooter with me. Stopped at my eldest sons place cause he has fiber optic. Test speed there was 148Mbps. The update still took 45 minutes but well worth the wait..updated my cell too..there would have been NO WAY I could have completed that task at home..FUCK HUGHESNET..slow ass piece of shit...counting the days until we get it up here. Was told maybe by end of year, first of next yr. That have been up here installing new poles so it is comming..

when we moved to our house in September last year we dropped our land line. No more telemarketers calling us.

Once we get our new service here, we are going to get us a land line, after over 10 years of not having one..can't say that I am excitied for the possibility of screening calls again...

And my corded phone has caller ID..
It's great .. NO real screening needed...
So don't worry Doc... YOU will LOVE not walking around with a phone on your hip...

once we get a land line in here, thats EXACTLY what will happen...that damn phone will be in my pocket.
Cell service here is iffy at best, and since the trees have leafed out, it's worse that iffy. Line of sight for cell towers is over 35 miles away and the closer towers are behind the hill tops..so being able to make a call, and hold the connection, might be usefull...

It was time to do a little upgrade on one of the antennas I use to get internet from the city to my house. While doing that upgrade I added a remote camera on the tower. Here is a link.
