Tonight I went healthy... I slice them, add a tiny bit of salt & pepper, then yum

Of course me being me, I ate 6 avocados + matched them with a nice bottle of cabernet sauvignon

I may have missed the lesson on 'portion control' when growing up...

BTW this reminded me of many happy days when I worked a case in NOLA in the 2000s, and feasted on Cajun Cooking. It also reminded me that when I spent growing-up summers on my Grands' ranch in Oregon, one of my daily chores was to bait the crawdaddy traps with bacon, sink them in the crick that ran through the ranch, collect the traps later in the day, and set the crawdaddies in a bowl of water for later prep as a side dish to supper.

Getting raised that way, and by depression-era parents, I learned things about food and eating what's set before ya that weren't often taught to later generations. As a result, I never was a picky eater.

But that didn't mean that I lost appreciation for fine cuisine, even in Baja working pits for the SCORE races.

I made avocado jalapeño dip today , 8 small over ripe avocados for a buck , ripe and soft , not hard and tasteless . Like i like them . Tomorrow ill make some fresh tortilla chips to go with them . Some lime juice , shot of worcestershire , garlic and sour cream .
