If you launch a wide-angle telescope into space and take photos of 1.7 b-for-billion stars... we get to see our galaxy!

Crazy that that article is from April of 2018! I wonder why we didn’t hear more about it then? Good find!

This arrived in an update email just a few days ago in my inbox. You're right, why wasn't it more public back in 2018!!
